Course Information
Description	Studio art courses that explore the potential of the computer hardware and software medium for their visual, conceptual, and practical uses in the visual arts which express the human condition across cultures.

Learning Outcomes	CSLO 1. Understand the importance of art in digital design. (PSLO 1,2,3) CSLO 2. Acquire the basic knowledge of creating design elements. (PSLO 1,2) CSLO 3. Describe current trends in graphic design. (PSLO 1,2,4) CSLO 4. Understand the creative process and demonstrate professionalism. (PSLO 1,2,3,4,5) Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will: 1. Apply tools and technologies used in digital media. 2. Apply the elements of art and principles of design within the realm of digital media. 3. Demonstrate creative skill in aesthetic problem solving within assigned parameters. 4. Employ discipline-specific vocabulary in the evaluation of still and time-based design problems. 5. Demonstrate an appropriate level of professional practice

Determination of Final Grade	Expectations To do well in this course, plan on a minimum of at least 5-6 hours of work per week to complete their design process assignments and practice using the programs for this class. There is a lot of course material to cover in this class so please don’t fall behind. It will be hard to make up course material if you do so. Determination of Final Grade 20% Part 1: Thinking 20% Part 2: Looking 50% Part 3: Doing 10% Part 4: Critique Project Grades 100% - This is a project based class. your grade will be based off of 6 class projects. The Average of these projects will account for 100% of your grade. Each major project will have 4 different phases Thinking, Looking, Doing, and Critique. 20% Thinking Assignments This is the 1st phase of the project. These assignments will require students to study and analyze the projects objectives and brainstorm concepts for possible solutions for the project. 20% Looking Assignments- These assignments will require students to research subject matter to learn about the iconology and symbolism of other countries. 50% Doing Assignments- This is the major part of the project where students will learn how to visually create their designs using current programs within the industry. 10% - Critique - This is the last stage of their projects where they will gather feedback about their projects from their peers or instructors.

All course related assignments, objectives, quizzes, tests, and lectures will be available via your Lamar PA online portal and through Blackboard. It is very important that you keep track of updated online assignments and course objectives via your personal computer and Lamar PA email. In order to be successful in this class you need to be diligent in the pursuit of your education and maintain your commitment to the course. Class News and Updates I will be contacting you via email (through the campus email with reminders, changes or any other pertinent information. Please check your email at once per day to make sure there are any important updates. It is your responsibility to manage your mailbox so that lines of communication are open and available. Attendance Policy	Attendance You are required to check Blackboard for weekly and daily assignments every week. I will update new assignments every Monday so check your Blackboard accounts every Monday. If an online lecture is scheduled you are required to attend during set date. This is an online remote class so you will be responsible for your classwork and homework on your own time. You are required to have assignments turned in on time according to due dates.
Academic Honesty	Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
Facility Policies	No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
